December 20, 2019Board of Regents Appoints Rev. Dr. Thomas Ries
PORTLAND, Ore. – December 20, 2019—Concordia University-Portland Board of Regents announced the appointment of Rev. Dr. Thomas Ries to a 12-month term as interim president, beginning Jan. 2, 2020.
Most recently, Dr. Ries served as president emeritus of Concordia University-St. Paul, also part of the Concordia University System, where he retired after eight years as president.

November 18, 2019The grant advances research of collaboration and social interactions in virtual spaces
PORTLAND, Ore. – November 18, 2019— Mozilla Corporation granted $25,000 to Concordia University-Portland to advance the research of “Unique Social and Spatial affordances of Hubs by Mozilla for Remote Participation in Live Events.”
The research grant, led by Fellow Jessica Outlaw, will help further develop the use of virtual reality (VR) technology by examining the collaboration between virtual spaces and social interactions.
