    United Way’s Catalyst Fund provides small, one-time investments to increase the effectiveness of support for the most underserved populations in our region.

    Concordia University-Portland’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program received national accreditation for the maximum 5-year timeframe by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for its educational competency and effectiveness.

    Inaugural Graduates Celebrate Commencement Ceremonies August 8.

    Concordia University School of Law has earned provisional approval from the American Bar Association (ABA). The ABA is the national accrediting agency authorized by the U.S. Department of Education.

    “I’m delighted the ABA has recognized Concordia Law’s commitment to offering the highest quality legal education,” said Concordia Law’s Dean Cathy Silak. “In our third year of operation, we continue to achieve the key milestones we set out to accomplish for our students and for the greater community.”

    Shawn Daley, Concordia University-Portland’s Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) and an assistant professor in the College of Education, was selected to join the Apple Distinguished Educators Class of 2015.

    As an Apple Distinguished Educator, Daley becomes a member of Apple’s select, handpicked community of education innovators.

    Kelsey Green, Concordia University graduate and Roosevelt H.S. softball coach and guidance counselor, was featured in a story by KGW TV’s Art Edwards on May 6, 2015.

    In her interview, Kelsey outlined her approach with the Roosevelt “Lady Riders” this way: “Students rise to the occasion. Let’s graduate from Roosevelt, let’s plan for college, and let’s become the best softball players we can be.”

    With her servant leadership, Kelsey exemplifies Concordia’s mission to prepare leaders for the transformation of society.

    The President’s Honor Roll recognizes higher education institutions whose community service efforts achieve meaningful outcomes in their communities. This distinction is the highest federal recognition colleges and universities can receive for community service, service-learning, and civic engagement.
