This has taught me that an hour and a half, once a week, can bring so much joy and change to someone's heart: mine. Although I will remain in the nursing program, I realized that I love serving. I love being able to teach a little girl a skill that is the building block for success in life.
During my second semester of my freshman year at Concordia I was able to encounter an amazing life changing experience... I am so grateful I had this opportunity and have influence on someone. I learned awesome skills of reading and also I learned more about myself and who I am and can grow to be.
This has been a great experience for me.
I am extremely grateful for this experience and hope this program can continue to stay in action to help benefit many other young readers on their path to success.
I cannot say enough on how I have enjoyed this experience. Making an impact on a child's life is worth more than words can describe.
Being a tutor has also made me feel good about myself because I'm helping someone become a better reader: thus a better student.
The best part of being able to help her improve with her reading was being able to watch her progression. She improved so much. I am so glad to have had this opportunity and am so grateful. ... learned a lot, but I think I learned just as much if not more. I hope that the program... continues, because it has the potential to change the lives of many children.
