Students from all disciplines and backgrounds encouraged to serve. Founded in 2006, the Concordia Teacher Corps (CTC) is an academic tutoring program created to enlist Concordia University's most promising future leaders to eliminate educational inequality in partnership with our community. The CTC is comprised of a select group of Concordia University students who tutor children in the neighborhoods surrounding the Concordia campus, meeting with elementary, middle, and high school students on a weekly basis throughout the academic year to establish a rapport that enables them to assist young people in the following ways: providing academic tutoring for K-12 students supporting their school work at various sites in North and Northeast Portland; supporting all learners including those with special needs; and encouraging and maintaining positive behavior in and out of school. |
