- Online: When you call the Writing Center, your tutor will answer, and verify that you are both logged on to your Google Document.
On-Campus: When you arrive in GRW 316, the coordinator, Anna, will greet you and sign you in.
- The tutor will ask you about the assignment you’re working on and what writing concerns you want to address in this appointment.
- After establishing what you want to work on, the tutor will read through your assignment guidelines and paper and give you feedback. This will be a conversation – the tutor will ask you lots of questions about your paper and offer suggestions and advice. Depending on your writing concerns, the tutor may spend some time teaching you grammar, punctuation, or APA rules, showing you examples of writing elements, like theses or topic sentences, or showing you resources you can use.
- Your appointment can last up to 45 minutes. You and the tutor will finish the appointment by reviewing the next steps for your paper or for your writing improvement. If you’d like to schedule another appointment for further help, your tutor will transfer you to the coordinator or instruct you to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
