Background

Born and raised in Ripley, Tennessee, Tom received a Navy ROTC scholarship and earned a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Mississippi. He was then commissioned and flew combat missions in Viet Nam, where he was a carrier-based Bombardier/Navigator in A-6's. Following the Viet Nam conflict, he returned to Monterey, California to complete his Masters degree in Operations Research with the Naval Postgraduate School. Tom graduated from the Defense Systems Management College and was designated a Program Management Professional. He closed out his Navy career as the head of the Naval ROTC program at Oregon State University, he also served on the Faculty Senate and the Academic Advisory Council. He is currently the Associate Director for the Concordia University MBA program in Bend, Oregon. He has received many military awards including the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medals, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and Air Medals. He has also been recognized by the civilian sector, being presented the key to the city of Pensacola for community service, and having the Island of Kauai dedicate a Tom Daniels day for his contributions there.
