Background
In the fall semester of 2008, Concordia University welcomes Dr. David Tucker to the faculty of the School of Management.
Prior to joining Concordia, Dr. Tucker was the Director of Academic Affairs for the Oregon Campus of the University of Phoenix. The Oregon Campus has five Learning Centers and 2,000 students, and Dr. Tucker was responsible for the 250 faculty members who teach at the Oregon Campus. He also served four years as the Regional Director of Academic Affairs for the Northwest Region of the University of Phoenix, including Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Nevada and British Columbia.
Dr. Tucker has 25 years of teaching experience, primarily in accounting, economics and finance. He taught at Cascade College in Portland and Harding University in Arkansas. He also worked for two years as an auditor and accountant for Arthur Andersen in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Tucker earned his undergraduate degree in accounting and economics from Harding University in Arkansas. He earned his Master's degree in Economics from Georgetown University, and his doctorate is in Economics from the University of Arkansas. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
In terms of public service, Dr. Tucker serves on the Board of Directors of Northwest Children's Theater and Columbia Christian Schools. He is also a member of the Downtown Rotary Club of Portland.
Dr. Tucker has two grown children. His son, Peyton Tucker, is a third year law student at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His daughter, Kinsey Tucker, is a recent graduate of Harding University and resides in Portland. He is married to Lori Tucker, who recently earned her Master's Degree in Conflict Resolution from Abilene Christian University.
