Background
I am the Director of Concordia University’s Interdisciplinary Environmental Management Program; I also teach Business Law and Business Ethics. Additionally, I teach Business, Government and the International Economy in our MBA program and Public School Law with the Graduate College of Education. My academic interests lie in the area of sustainable development. I am a member of the Oregon State Bar and prior to coming to Concordia I served with the United States Navy for over thirty years. I was a member of the Judge Advocate General Corps for the majority of that time and practiced, among other areas of the law, environmental and international law. For years I was intimately involved in the management of the Judge Advocate General Corps. I also served as the Inspector General of the Naval Sea Systems Command. Because of these experiences, I bring a unique perspective to the School of Management. The opportunity to work with bright young people is the driving force behind my commitment to teaching at Concordia University and the School of Management.
