Background
Dr. Ann Widmer has been at Concordia University since 1983. She teaches in the MBA program and directs the thesis and internship courses. She also teaches Health Care Administration. She has published three books in health administration that have won Outstanding Book of the Year awards. She established the Institute for Health Care Education and was the first elected President of the National Hospice Organization. She serves on the Executive Committee for Widmer Brothers Brewing Company as chair of their sustainability committee, and numerous community and corporate boards. In 1998, she was voted one of the Twenty Five Outstanding Business Women of the Year in Portland by the Oregon Business Journal.
