University Parking Permits

All student vehicles must have a hanging tag to park in a lot.

Parking is free at Concordia University. However, if you bring a motor vehicle to the University, you MUST have a parking permit. Temporary parking permits are available through all departments by arrangement, but if you will be using campus parking regularly, you may obtain a permit from Campus Safety.

Your first parking permit is free, replacement permits are $5.

You may obtain a parking permit in the Campus Public Safety Office, in Hagen Campus Center in the first floor hallway between the mailroom and dining hall. You may also obtain a parking permit by downloading the parking permit form and mailing it to:

Campus Public Safety Office
2811 NE Holman
Portland, OR. 97211

or by sending a text e-mail with the information on the form to PublicSafety@cu-portland.edu. Students enrolled in distance education or online programs may have the permit mailed to them, for all other students, we can arrange for the permit to be picked up in either the campus safety offices or in the Information Office. If you find yourself on campus after hours, call the campus safety cell phone, 503-280-8517, with any permit problems.

THE PERMIT MUST BE DISPLAYED so it is visible. Vehicles parked on campus without displaying a University parking permit are subject to a fine for the first offense and it may be towed at the owner's expense.

University Parking Locations

Currently there are parking lots located next to Luther Hall (27th and Holman), between the Fine Arts Building and the P.E. Building (27th and Highland), east of the Baseball Diamond and Centennial Hall (NE 29th and Holman), north of Elizabeth (29th and Portland Blvd, resident students only), and north of the Music, Art & Drama House (29th and Liberty, just south of St. Michael's Lutheran Church). We urge you to park in a lot because it keeps your vehicle off the street and the parking lots are patrolled. IN A LOT, YOU MUST PARK WITHIN AN AUTHORIZED OR MARKED SPACE. Parking Regulations-City Streets

In cooperation with the Concordia Neighborhood Association, the University has agreed to the following:

  1. No parking on any of the residential streets (27TH, 28TH, 29TH and 30th) SOUTH OF NE HOLMAN STREET.
  2. No parking on the EAST SIDE OF NE 30TH BETWEEN HOLMAN AND PORTLAND BLVD.
  3. DO NOT block driveways, sidewalks, crosswalks, park within 10 ft. of a fire hydrant, or park facing the wrong way on the street.
  4. Concordia University actively enforces the agreement.

City of Portland Parking Patrol personnel routinely patrol the campus area and they WILL issue citations and/or tow your vehicle AT YOUR EXPENSE for these violations. Please help us keep our agreement and allowing the University to maintain a good relationship with our neighbors and friends who live nearby.

More specific and detailed campus parking regulations can be found in the Student Handbook, available on the CU Intranet. (Intranet log in requires authentication.)
