Professor Scott Winegar is a tireless advocate for homeland security education, having spent 30 years in law enforcement and 34 years in the military. He is committed to developing the next wave of leaders in homeland security and related fields. Professor Winegar has experience in senior leadership roles on site for major national and international emergency situations, including hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav, Ike, California wildfires; and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Portland State University and his master’s degree in homeland security from the prestigious Center for Homeland Defense and Security at the Naval Postgraduate School.
