Background: 

Sarah serves as the Reference and Catalog Librarian at Concordia University Libraries. In addition to helping students and faculty with research, she catalogs new materials for the library and maintains the online library catalog system. Sarah also serves as the bibliographer for Fine Arts.

Sarah is a graduate of Emporia State University’s School of Library and Information Management, where she earned a Master of Library Science degree, and a Graduate Certificate in Archives Studies, and where she developed a love for library systems and technology. As part of her academic focus in archives, she completed practica at the Archives of the Rocky Mountain National Park and the Estes Park Historical Museum, as well as an internship photographing and cataloging collections at the Portland Art Museum. Before coming to Concordia, Sarah served professionally as a librarian at the Portland Art Museum, Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, Mt Hood Community College, and Clackamas Community College.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography from Marylhurst University. She has exhibited photography and mixed media at The Art Gym at Marylhurst University, and galleries throughout Portland, Seattle, Houston, and Western Massachusetts.

She lives in Portland with her husband, Nathan, and their daughter Ingrid.
