Concordia hosts move-in day, enrolls record number of students
Yesterday was move-in day at Concordia
It marks the small, Lutheran, liberal arts college's largest student body to date -- 3,000 students. The number includes 250 new students at its Northeast Portland campus, the university's new law school in Boise, its satellite program in Bend, and its online programs.
The 250 students making a home in Northeast Portland today come from 19 states, nine countries and one U.S. Commonwealth.
The start of this academic year also marks the 30th year that Dr. Charles Schlimpert will serve as the university's president. The distinction makes him the longest serving university president in Oregon, according to spokeswoman Madeline Turnock.
