Concordia University In Candidacy for ACBSP Business School Accreditation

Concordia University, in Portland, Ore. has been approved to enter Candidacy for Accreditation with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Concordia University will be awarded a Certificate of Candidacy for Accreditation at an Accreditation Banquet held June 26, 2011, during the ACBSP Annual Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana.

"ACBSP accreditation is the next important step in the growth and prestige of our undergraduate business and MBA degree programs in Portland and Bend," said Dr. Stephen Braun, Dean of Concordia University's School of Management.

"We are delighted to welcome Concordia University as a candidate for ACBSP accreditation," said Executive Director Douglas Viehland. "The fact that Concordia is pursuing ACBSP accreditation shows their commitment to providing the highest quality business education for their students."

ACBSP is a leading specialized accreditation association for business education supporting, celebrating, and rewarding teaching excellence. Established in 1988, ACBSP is the only business accrediting organization for all associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degree programs. In 2001, ACBSP was recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). ACBSP has more than 847 member campuses from 47 countries.
