Concordia confers 2,177 degrees and holds special commencement in S. Africa for 90
Concordia University-Portland conferred 2,177 degrees worldwide between December 2015 and January 2016, including 90 master of education (M.Ed.) graduates who participated in a special commencement ceremony in South Africa’s largest city, Johannesburg.

Law School Dean Cathy Silak Promoted to the University’s VP of Community Engagement
Concordia University continues to expand its commitment to Boise, and the Intermountain West, with today’s announcement that its founding Law School Dean Cathy Silak will become the University’s vice president for community engagement.

Concordia University education major, Jared Ball, shared his opinions as one of four guests on the program that aired on Nov. 24th. The program shed light on how rural schools in Oregon are struggling to fill job openings, especially in special education, science, and advanced math. What are smaller districts and rural areas doing to attract new teachers?

Leaders of Concordia University’s Homeland Security degree program and Homeland Security Simulation Center were called upon to share their experience on issues of terrorism and security preparation and responsiveness in the wake of the Paris tragedy. The Concordia community will gather in prayer and reflection at a special Chapel honoring victims and those affected.
