Dear Concordia Community,
In our Open Letter to the Community on Jan. 19, Concordia University Portland reiterated its commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and support for all students, including LGBTQ+ students. The following action steps were identified, and CU is making progress on each item outlined below.

Update to club charter renewal process
Concordia University-Portland is currently updating all its student club charters to align with university club and events policies. This follows an Oct. 13, 2017 action by the university’s Board of Regents to ensure that all policies are applied equally to all student clubs.
Concordia University-Portland values and supports diversity, equity and inclusion.

Portland’s NBC Affiliate, KGW News Channel 8 featured 3 to PhD as a new model for lifelong education and community involvement on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.

College of Education’s new curriculum creates trauma-informed teachers
More than 25 percent of American youth experience a serious traumatic event by their sixteenth birthday, and many children suffer multiple and repeated traumas, according to the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. This trauma affects children learning in the classroom.
