    As you are all aware, new executive orders issued last week have changed immigration policies and raised concerns and created anxiety for many in our Concordia University community and those communities within which our students, faculty, and staff are called to serve. As a Lutheran Institution, we are called to servant leadership and to live out Jesus’s call to welcome people from all backgrounds and cultures. As we seek to fulfill our mission, we will continue to work with refugees, immigrants and serve those who are displaced.

    Concordia University received the Maritime Fire & Safety Association’s Community Partnership Award at its annual meeting Jan. 26, 2017.

    The award recognized the contributions of Concordia’s Center for Emergency Solutions (CES) in support of the mission of the Association to keep the region’s waterways safe.  The MFSA award recognizes Concordia University for “advancing the goals of enhanced response and preparedness efforts along the Lower Columbia and Willamette River System.”
