    As a Christian university, in the spirit of respect, love, and humility, Concordia University-Portland accepts the charter as proposed by the Queer Straight Alliance (QSA) club. We remain committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we support all students, particularly people from groups who have historically been marginalized.

    In addition to the approval of the charter, the university will immediately take the following steps:
    • Enhance our equity initiatives by dedicating a safe space program, with staffing, for LGBTQ+ students.

    Update to club charter renewal process

    Concordia University-Portland is currently updating all its student club charters to align with university club and events policies. This follows an Oct. 13, 2017 action by the university’s Board of Regents to ensure that all policies are applied equally to all student clubs.

    More than 25 percent of American youth experience a serious traumatic event by their sixteenth birthday, and many children suffer multiple and repeated traumas, according to the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. This trauma affects children learning in the classroom.
