If you are thinking about attending law school in the Fall of 2011, the time is now to register for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) and to subscribe to the Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS). Both the LSAT and the LSDAS are required components of the law school application process. The LSAT is administered by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) and is not based on knowledge of subject areas, but instead, will test your reasoning, reading, logic, and analytical skills. The exam includes five, 35 minute sections of multiple choice questions and one unscored writing sample. The LSDAS report will be sent to any law school where you have applied upon receipt by LSAC of official transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended, letters of recommendation, and general biographical information.
The next LSAT is being administered on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at locations throughout the country and the world. Registration online, by mail, or by telephone for the October test is due Tuesday, September 7. The LSAT will also be administered in December and February, but we advise that you take the LSAT in October. More information about preparing for the test and registration is available at www.lsac.org. If you have questions about the LSAT or the law school application process, please contact one of our admissions professionals. Contact information is available at www.cu-portland.edu/lawschool/contact.cfm.
