Laura was a research assistant in the Oregon Cancer Center at OHSU for several years prior to returning to school to become a registered nurse. She has worked as a nurse in a variety of settings both inpatient and outpatient over the last 16 years. She discovered her love of teaching after becoming a certified childbirth educator and teaching expecting couples about the birth experience. Laura was able to return to school for her master’s degree and earn a certificate as a Nurse Educator. She has worked as an adjunct clinical nursing instructor in the long-term care setting and the community-health setting. Laura is the Parish nurse for her faith community, Our Lady of Lourdes.
On a personal note, Laura has been happily married for over 22 years and has two daughters. She is a Girl Scout leader, enjoys reading, sewing, crafting, singing in the church choir, camping, and spending time with her family.
