Kathryn has over 30 year of experience in public education working within the schools in many different capacities. She has taught Special Education grades K-8 as well as having extensive experience teaching in general education. She has served as a literacy coach, as well as performing as an Instructional Coordinator.
Kathryn has a particular love and expertise in the area of literacy development. She has consulted locally, regionally and nationally sharing her passion for children and literacy. She has been recognized for her work as a special educator, receiving the Nonda Stone Award for Outstanding Contributions to Special Education. In addition she was recognized by the Milken Foundation, receiving the Milken National Educator Award.
When Kathryn is not immersed in her work, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and curling up with a good book. She is an avid horsewoman, and can be found jumping her horse Welka whenever she can.
