Priorities for Admission to the Nursing Program
There are three paths to enter the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) cohort at CU. Application to the BSN cohort begins prior to the junior year. Application deadline is either February 1 or February 15, depending upon your chosen path.
- High school seniors apply to the Freshman BSN Program by the priority deadline of February 1 of their senior year. Applications may be accepted after the deadline depending on capacity in the Freshman BSN Program for the upcoming fall semester. Freshman BSN students at CU* who meet the Freshman BSN Program Expectations will continue directly into the BSN cohort.
- Concordia students who are not in the Freshman BSN Program may also take pre-requisite nursing courses at CU. They apply to the BSN cohort by February 15 of their sophomore year, following the same guidelines as transfer students. Concordia students who have taken at least a full course load (12 semester credits) including 6 credits of science courses at CU will be considered second priority for admission into the BSN cohort.
- Junior transfer students, as well as graduates, completing pre-requisite nursing courses at other colleges and universities apply to the BSN program by February 15 of the year they plan on beginning the BSN cohort. Junior transfer students who have completed all pre-requisite nursing courses from other colleges will be considered third priority. Those who are in the process of completing their pre-requisite nursing courses will be considered last priority.
