Internships

All exercise and sport science and social work students complete an internship. The purpose of this internship is to help students apply academic knowledge to a work environment. Many Concordia University internships turn into full-time employment opportunities upon graduation, putting students in an enviable position—they already have a job offer and can begin their careers immediately.

The internship connects the exercise and sport science major with practical, relevant, and challenging real-world experiences in the fitness industry. Throughout this experience Concordia students apply knowledge they gained in courses and laboratory setting as well as learn new technical, leadership, and human relation skills. The internship is an excellent connection with fitness club and sports lab professionals and a great networking opportunity once the program is complete.

Field experience is an integral part of Concordia's social work major. Usually during their senior year, students participate in supervised learning experiences in community agencies. Students are placed in agencies according to their interests and needs.
