Private Scholarships
Anything a student brings in as a private scholarship is considered over and above what the school offers as part of their financial aid package. This means that the award will directly reduce a student's out-of-pocket costs. Good places to research for private scholarships include the websites www.finaid.org and www.fastweb.com. Oregon students should also look at www.osac.state.or.us (this is the Oregon State Scholarship Commission website).
