Background: 

Emily is in her 12th year as the head of Concordia University’s athletic training department. A Northwest native, Emily grew up on Whidbey Island, just north of Seattle, and attended Willamette University from 1992-1996. She played basketball for the Bearcats for two seasons before immersing herself in the exercise science program where she discovered athletic training.

After finishing her undergraduate degree, Kosderka attended Indiana University where she completed her master’s degree in 1998.Upon graduation from Indiana, Kosderka was offered the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lewis & Clark College. Following a three-year stint in that position, she accepted the top position at Concordia as Head Athletic Trainer.

Kosderka lives in Wilsonville with her husband Matt Koskerka, head baseball coach and physical education teacher at Wilsonville High School. The couple is the parent of a daughter, Sydney, and a son Colby.
