My dream of becoming an elementary school teacher began when I was in the sixth grade. As cheesy as it sounds, the idea of helping to mold and educate young minds has been my passion and career path ever since. My name is Dylana McGill and I’m currently a sophomore honors student at Concordia University-Portland majoring in elementary education.
You’re probably wondering how much of a difference your money can make. For me, that difference has been the life-changing opportunity to attend Concordia – an opportunity made possible through scholarships. I’ve already been able to spend more than a year working in the classrooms at next-door Faubion School – teaching art lessons, working with students who need extra help, and tutoring kids in reading. I wish you could see the look on a second-grader’s face when they successfully read a page they’ve been struggling with. That’s making a difference – and it’s why I’m writing you today.
If you’re already a donor, thank you! If you’re considering making a donation, please do! I encourage you to make a commitment to fostering student leaders with a gift of $25 or more today – money that will support the Concordia University scholarship fund.
Thanks to big-hearted people like you, my dream of being a teacher is coming true at Concordia. But there are hundreds of would-be scientists, accountants, nurses, social workers, doctors, and more all waiting for their chance. Your gift can turn their dreams into reality, too.
