Money raised to fight HIV in Africa
On Sunday, June 9, the Portland Barefoot 3v3 Soccer Tourney for Africa brought 500 players and 1,500 spectators to Concordia University's Hilken Community Stadium. It is Concordia's second year hosting the tournament.
The tournament raises money to fight HIV in Africa. One hundred percent of the tournament's proceeds go to charity.

Oregon’s fastest growing university adds new degree options, continues to grow online
Oregon's fastest-growing university, Concordia University, awarded a total of 660 undergraduate and graduate degrees on Sat., May 4, 2013.
This year's commencement ceremonies at the Christian, liberal arts university in Portland, was the largest in the University's century-long history at an increase of 44 graduates, or nearly 10%. Concordia graduates span the university's 26 undergraduate majors and four graduate areas of study.

Ed.D. offered both online and on Portland campus
Concordia University's new, accredited Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) degree will be offered both online and on the Portland campus, beginning May 2013.
"Concordia's new doctorate of education emphasizes the personal relationships between student peers and professors that Concordia is known for, by grouping students in cohorts of 15 to travel through the 3-4 year program together," said Joe Mannion, Concordia University's Dean of the College of Education.
CU Named to U.S. President’s Community Service Honor Roll
Concordia University was recognized on the U.S. President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for the fifth consecutive year. The honor roll recognizes U.S. colleges and universities for their commitment to and achievement in service to America's communities.
