Concordia University offers talent scholarships to any qualified student who wishes to be involved in the choral or instrumental music program without preference for their chosen major emphasis. Auditions are individually scheduled throughout the school year. If you are applying as a non-music major and are unable to visit the Concordia University campus, you may request to audition for a talent scholarship in absentia. Once this optional type of audition is deemed necessary, you are required to submit a taped recording of you performing at least two songs of varied styles, a letter of reference from your present director along with a completed Audition Information Form, which will be sent to you by email. The audition in absentia is generally considered appropriate when great travel distances make it difficult for a student to personally audition.
General auditions for individuals who wish to audition for admittance to one of the music ensembles and not for scholarship consideration are also held at the beginning of the first week of fall classes.
For additional information or to schedule an audition, please contact Kurt Berentsen, Music Program Director, at 503-280-8511 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
