Concordia University Concert Choir
The Concordia University Concert Choir, a vocal ensemble of approximately 50 members, prepares and presents a wide variety of Christian choral repertoire that is of the highest quality and befitting of a university-level choral program.
A choir retreat on the beautiful Oregon coast is scheduled in September to begin preparation of music for three major concerts scheduled in December, March and April.
In the past several years, the Concordia University Concert Choir has presented Messiah by Handel, Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine by Fauré, as well as Requiem by Mozart with an orchestra consisting of members of the Oregon Symphony.
In addition to on-campus concerts, a spring/summer tour of 12 to 16 days highlight the musical year. These tours have included international presentations in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Switzerland, as well as domestic presentations in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.
The choirs have sung in venues such as St. Marks Cathedral in Venice, Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, and St. Peter Cathedral in Geneva.
The Concordia University Concert Choir is also a featured choir in the annual American Choral Director Association's - Collegiate Choral Festival, which is held each year in April. Entrance to this ensemble is by audition.
