MADE for Kids - Summer 2011 Theater Arts Camp
Two One-Week Camps
Improve your skills in acting, singing, dancing, & writing as we create all-new, fully-staged shows based on classic songs and stories. Family and friends will be invited to a special performance on the last day of each camp at 2pm.
Each week's camp is completely independent, so students are encouraged to attend one or both.
Camps are held in the Theater (Fine Arts Building) on the Concordia University campus located on the corner of NE 27th and Highland. Students will be provided with morning and afternoon snacks, but will need to bring a sack lunch daily.
After-care available Monday-Thursday until 5pm. See below for details.

About MADE for Kids
MADE for Kids is Music, Art & Drama Education, a community-oriented opportunity for children who live in North and N.E. Portland. Established by Concordia University in 1996, the program is designed to encourage underprivileged children with interactive arts experiences beyond their regular school programs. MADE for Kids incorporates diverse student help from Concordia's theatre, art and elementary education programs. Saturday Arts Carnivals and Summer Camps have featured local artists-in-residence like Will Hornyak and Tears of Joy, while some CU theatre productions and arts activities are Made for Kids. This intergenerational, interscholastic experiment has been supported through grants from the Pamplin Foundation, Herbert Templeton Foundation, Autzen Foundation, Union Pacific Foundation, and the McMenamin Brothers. Recent MADE activities have included Concordia's own Case of the Broken Zoosafone (presented to eight neighboring Elementary schools), Aladdin (Summer Camp), Folk Tales and World Legends (presented at Faubion Elementary classrooms by Concordia education students) and the 2006 original one-act musical Mirror, Mirror, Off the Wall.
MADE for Kids has been made possible in the past by generous grants from The Herbert A Templeton Foundation, The Anne A. Berni Foundation, Wells Fargo and Co., The Wyss Foundation, Union Pacific Foundation, and McMenamins Brothers.
