Background
Rici Hallstand, Ph.D. joined the faculty of Concordia University in 2001, following over ten years of research experience in immunology. Her prior research experience and post-doctoral work included research at laboratories at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Seattle), the University of Washington, and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. Rici teaches introductory cell and molecular biology for majors (Bio 211) as well as an upper division course in Immunology. She has also participated in the Math/Science Department seminar sequence and has taught courses on topics such as HIV/AIDS, the global impact of infectious disease, and the history of women in science. Rici also mentors students interested in pursuing summer research internships, and teaches the Math/Science Department thesis preparation seminar which guides students in developing a research topic for a senior thesis.
