Background
Kurt Bergdolt joined the faculty of Concordia University-Portland in the fall of 2009 as an Assistant Professor of Art. Prior to teaching at Concordia, he taught Art and Art Education courses at Concordia University, Seward. He has also served as a Sixth grade teacher and Art Director at St. John Lutheran School in Seward, Nebraska and a high school art teacher at Lutheran High School North, St. Louis.
Kurt's primary focus in art is in the area of ceramics where he continues to produce, show, and sell work. At Concordia, his teaching responsibilities include classes in Drawing, Ceramics, Fundamentals of Art, Art Appreciation, and Art for Elementary Teachers. His passion for working with teens and young adults extends out of the classroom to the football fields of Portland Lutheran School where he serves as the head football coach.
Kurt and his wife Kate reside in the Gresham area along with their four children and two dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys working in the yard, reading books, woodworking, and cheering for the University of Nebraska football team.
