The Concordia Education Faculty
The Concordia education faculty is a family of professional educators who promote an instructional environment of collegiality, collaboration, and cooperation among themselves and their students. They are all Christians who work from a mindset of trust, love, respect, service, acceptance, and forgiveness. Each is an experienced professional with extensive service in Pre Kindergarten Grade 12 schools in either teaching, administration, or both. The full-time faculty consists of a 38% male and 62% female population. Together, with partner faculty and supervising faculty, the Concordia University faculty team is very talented and shares a variety of gifts with multiple audiences. Faculty members volunteer time in their churches and most serve in their local communities. Several are authors; several faculty members have a degree in counseling; some have served as consultants in the Oregon Department of Education, other state agencies and a program for drug addicted adolescents; some have served as school board members; some presented at state and local conferences addressing topics and offering training on antiracism/cultural proficiency; several worked as medical and mission field instructors; and some routinely instruct overseas. Many faculty members serve groups of learners with special needs, serve students who are at risk, lead drug and alcohol abuse prevention activities, teach confirmation classes, one serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate; and others volunteer at various shelters.
