Background
Lynn Keyne-Michaels, Professor of Education and Concordia Teacher Corps Coordinator, joined the faculty of Concordia in 1998. During her first seven years at Concordia, Dr. Keyne-Michaels served as Director of Placement where she established a centralized office for placement and assigned Concordia's clinical experience students to area schools and prepared supervisors to mentor these students. Lynn currently teaches classes in the college of education and enjoys her role as Coordinator of the Concordia Teacher Corps, where she recruits and equips Concordia students to tutor K - 12 students affiliated with our partnering schools and churches.
Lynn has been a professional church worker for 30 years. She earned her B. S. and Lutheran Teachers' Diploma at Concordia Teachers College, Seward, NE, and her M. S. in Education at California State University, Hayward, CA. She earned her Washington teaching and administrator certifications and was awarded the Ed. D. at Washington State University, Vancouver, WA. Prior to her work at Concordia, she was a classroom teacher, middle level mathematics teacher, school music director, and church musician in our Lutheran schools in Tennessee, California, and Nevada. She is the recipient of the 1998 Nevada Teacher of the Year Award for private school teachers and in 1998 served on the National Teacher Forum in Washington, D. C. In 2008, Lynn was presented a Faculty Award for Service-Learning from Oregon Campus Compact.
