Background
A native of Buellton, California, Barbarick played collegiately at Columbia Christian College where he earned his B.S. in physical education. He went on to Western Oregon State University and Oregon State University to complete his Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in Sport Science.
Barbarick came to Concordia in 1993 as an assistant coach before taking the helm the following year. Prior to Concordia, Barbarick spent seven years as a collegiate assistant at Columbia Christian College, Mt. Hood Community College and Western Oregon State University. The Cavaliers have reached the post-season three straight years and have become one of the top teams in the very tough Cascade Collegiate Conference.
Barbarick spent seven years as an elementary and middle school physical education teacher in Northern California as well as in the Portland area. His wife of 11 years Dana who is a 6th grade teacher in the Centennial school district in Gresham. They have three children Emily and Megan, Twin Daughters, and son Zachary. Reside in the Concordia Neighborhood two blocks from campus.
Classes taught at Concordia include: Curriculum and Instruction for Health & Physical Education, First Responder, Theory of Basketball, Tennis classes, as well as Student Teaching Supervision.
