The Story Behind the Poem by Clement C. Moore
Concordia University Libraries Art and Culture Program is dedicated to educating and inspiring our students, faculty, and the greater Portland community. We cordially invite you to a presentation by Judith M. Nixon, Professor of Library Science and Education Librarian at Prudue University. The presentation will be held November 29th at 6:30pm. Clement C. Moore wrote the most famous Christmas poem almost 200 years ago. This presentation looks at the story behind the poem; is Santa a little elf, just big enought to fit down a chimney? Or is he a man-sized character dressed in a red suit with a bag of toys on his back? The program will also include a display of remarkable books from Nixon's extensive collection. Light refreshments will be served following the presentation. This event is free and open to the public. For more information or to be added to our mailing list contact Linda Church, Director at 503-493-6370 or lchurch@cu-portland.edu.
