With a good understanding of what the Common Core State Standards are, teachers are now asking, “What next steps do we take to implement these new standards in our classroom instruction?” In this engaging and practical session, Literacy Specialist Penny Plavala will review key instructional shifts, share the reading and writing demands of a Common Core classroom, and provide an overview of the Smarter Balanced Assessment.
