Concordia University invites the public to attend the following community events this November 2012.

Art Show – Through Nov. 9, Daily 8a.m.-10p.m.
Concordia University hosts art show by the King City Artist's Guild in the university's George R. White Library & Learning Center through Nov. 9. More information at www.cu-portland.edu/library/events/.
Literacy Event – Sat. Nov. 3, 7:30 a.m.
In this engaging and practical session, Literacy Specialist Penny Plavala will review key instructional shifts, share the reading and writing demands of a Common Core classroom, and provide an overview of the Smarter Balanced Assessment. This event will take place in the Student Event and Activities Center (Second floor of Hagen) on Concordia University's campus. Concordia Wind Ensemble Fall Concert – Sun. Nov. 4, 3:00 p.m.
Join Concordia University's Wind Ensemble for its free concert in the Fine Arts Building on Concordia University's campus. The music will feature selections composed by Aaron Copland, Larry Clark, and several others.
Concordia University Senior Preview 2012 – Nov. 9-10
Attention, high school seniors! Join Concordia University Portland for its Senior Preview weekend Nov. 9 - 10 and live the life of a Concordia student for 24-hours. Meet your future profs, sit in on a class, spend the night in one of our spacious dorm rooms, learn more about your major and interests, and explore the broader campus that is Portland. Small Instrumental Ensemble Fall Concert – Fri. Nov. 9, 7:00 p.m.
Concordia University's small ensembles will perform at their annual fall concert. This free concert will be held in the Fine Arts Building on Concordia's campus and will feature the Brass, Handbell, and String ensembles.
Guatemalan Art Show & Fundraiser – Nov. 12 - Dec. 28, Daily 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Concordia University invites you to view Guatemalan Art on display in the George R. White Library and Learning Center. Guatemalan art on display comes from a small group of Tz'utujil communities where artists have adapted the international genre of naïve art to express the cultural traditions, beliefs, ceremonies, and daily activities of their indigenous culture. Students interested in the Master of Arts in Teaching or Master of Education programs are invited to attend an information session in Concordia's Luther Hall.
