Master of International Development and Service (MA IDS)

Tuition includes:

Alumni Grant

Concordia University-Portland, Oregon alumni qualify for a special Concordia Alumni Grant equal to $5,000 off tuition on most graduate programs. This grant applies exclusively to programs offered on campus or online by Concordia University-Portland. This grant is available to alumni graduating from any of the 10 Concordia University campuses who attend Concordia University-Portland, Oregon. For a list of Concordia University System schools, please visit: http://www.lcms.org/cuscampuses. This grant is also available to any alumni of any other Lutheran college or university. We also offer a $5,000 Americorps/Peace Corps Alumni Grant for any student who is recognized by the organization as being an alumni (Please submit an Americorps/Peace Corps confirmation of service form.)  This grant is not stackable with other scholarships.

Tuition and Fees

2014-15 Tuition: Block rate of $15,875 per term
Student Activity Fee: On Campus Programs only: $25 Per Fall or Spring Semester
Technology Fee: .5 to 5.5 hours: $100 per semester
6 hours and above: $200 per semester
Estimated program costs prior to any scholarships, grants, or other financial aid: $63,500

Loans

U.S. citizens and eligible noncitizens admitted to and enrolled at least half-time (3 semester credits) in a CU MA IDS program are eligible for Federal Stafford Loans that can pay for the entire tuition amount, plus provide additional funds to assist with living expenses and other educationally related costs.

To apply for student loans, you must be admitted to CU's MA IDS program and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA).

Unsubsidized Stafford Loans are awarded to assist with educational expenses, but are not limited to demonstrated financial need. The interest is not paid by the federal government and is the responsibility of the student. There is an origination fee of 1.073%taken from the loan prior to disbursement, on or after October 1, 2014. The current interest rate is 6.21% for graduate students.

Payment is deferred on the unsubsidized Stafford Loan while the student is enrolled at least half-time. Other provisions include annual loan limit, aggregate loan limit, interest rate and fees, disbursements, and repayment.
Graduate PLUS Loan:
Credit-based loan that graduate students can apply for. The maximum eligibility is the cost of attendance less other financial aid. Origination fee for this is 4.292% and is taken from the loan prior to disbursement, on or after October 1, 2014. Interest rate is 7.21%.
