Welcome to the College of Health and Human Services at Concordia University - Portland. You have found a unique and special place that is focused on developing human service professionals for the future. The changing healthcare marketplace has driven the transformation of healthcare into a dynamic interprofessional team of caregivers that share responsibility for the health and well-being of the communities we live in. Our goal is for students to develop meaningful life-long relationships through shared experiences in innovative and engaging coursework, valuable community outreach activities, clinical internships, and community-based action research projects.
The curriculum has been specifically designed to provide interprofessional training to prepare students to serve as critical members of culturally competent health care teams. A firm foundation in interdisciplinary coursework and research prepares students to provide the most up-to-date, evidence-based practices and become leaders in developing novel quality improvement approaches. A focus on community relationships and service help shape our students into agents of change.
In the College of Health and Human Services, we are committed to preparing our students to be leaders who will improve the health and wellbeing of the communities in which they live. Our programs strive to develop students with cultural competence, respectful and caring attitudes, commitment to underserved communities, and strong personal and professional ethics. The knowledge, skills, and attitudes our graduates gain make them highly successful in the job market as well as in their personnel life.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Concordia family!
