Summer 2017: Three One-Week Musical Theater Camps
Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Mary Poppins
Who: Kids entering grades 2-8
What: Theater games, improvisation, stage movement, and live performance (including costumes and lights)!
When: Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm
July 24th – 28th (Aladdin)
July 31st – August 5th (Beauty and the Beast)
and/or August 7th – 11th (Mary Poppins)
Where: Concordia University Theater (Fine Arts Building) at NE 27th Ave & NE Highland St (0.3 miles south of Lombard)
How Much: $190 per participant, per week (family discounts available; see below)
Why: Because musical theater is fun, creative, collaborative, and uses all aspects of one’s mind and body!
Family and friends will be invited to a special, fully-staged performance on the last day of each camp at 2pm in the Concordia University Theater.
Each week’s music, story, and performance are completely independent, so kids are encouraged to attend one, two, or all three camps!
Campers will be provided with morning and afternoon snacks, but will need to bring a sack lunch daily.

About MADE for Kids
MADE for Kids is Music, Art, & Drama Education, a community-oriented opportunity for children who live in the Concordia neighborhood and beyond. Established by Concordia University in 1996, the program is designed to encourage children with interactive arts experiences beyond their regular school programs. This intergenerational, interscholastic experiment has been supported through grants from the Pamplin Foundation, Herbert Templeton Foundation, Autzen Foundation, Union Pacific Foundation, and the McMenamin Brothers. Prior MADE activities have included Concordia's own Case of the Broken Zoosafone (presented to eight neighboring elementary schools), Folk Tales and World Legends (presented at Faubion Elementary classrooms by Concordia education students) and the original one-act musical Mirror, Mirror, Off the Wall.
MADE for Kids offers low-cost musical theater camps every summer, culminating in fully-staged performances of musical revues, children’s folk tales and poetry, and original adaptations of Aladdin, The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, and many other Broadway shows. MADE for Kids alumni regularly return as camp production assistants and stage managers.
